Holiday Wardrobe done right!

If you've been following over the last few months, you may remember a previous post by Taryn about Joie.

Joie is the epitome of Parisian chic, and nothing says the holidays like beautiful garments! Looking for the perfect silk blouse or dress to wear to the upcoming holiday soirees? Make sure to hit up the Joie sample sale taking place at Siren Studios in Hollywood at the end of the month!

The sale also features Joie sister brands Equipment and Current/ Elliott. Prices are incredibly reasonable, almost everything under $150, but get there early! The line was down the block by the time it opened last go around. Also make sure to leave your bags at home or in the car as they do not allow them inside.

Happy Shopping!

There is no such thing as too many sales...

As you patiently wait & countdown the days until Black Friday, why not reward yourself with some pre pre-holiday shopping...

Does it get more model off duty cool than A.L.C....I think not. As the flyer states they will also be giving $10 off to all social media friends and followers, so make sure to log on before next week and get your plan of attack in order.

And how can we not mention the first LA sample sale of our very own CSULB hero, Phillip Lim? Proceeds from the sale will also be donated to the Red Cross to aid in Hurricane Sandy relief. Beautiful clothes & a great cause, does it get any better?

Maggie Ward & Trina Turk are among the other upcoming sales, which are all worth the trek into DTLA to score some serious gorgeous pieces for your wardrobe. The sales are all happening this week or next, so make sure to check out the rest of the flyers below for more details!

Happy shopping! And stay tuned for our upcoming rundown on where to find some of the best Black Friday deals....

Captain's Helm

This his and hers kingdom of hipness collides surf, skate, and music culture to a tee.  Not only will you stumble upon the vintage rags that you've been missing, but I've never been as visually pleased with the decor and displays in any store before.  I wouldn't  mind moving in ASAP.  The staff is so laid back that I bet they would allow it.  This is a must shop stop with pretty much a guaranteed purchase every visit with zero chance of breaking the bank.

The collection of leather jackets and boots is completely outta hand!  Not just for the gals but the guys collection even more so.  If you gotta man, I highly recommend you drag him him in.  Warning:  Shoppers may get separation anxiety and need to repeat visit in the very near future.

Furs, hats, bags... NECESSARY

This clutch only has eyes for you!

Do your pants need help staying up?  Even if they don't, buckle it up with these one-of-a-kinds.

Records Galore

Sweet Dreams.

Perusing the displays is an adventure in itself.

Reconstructed out of vintage boat parts, the dressing rooms double as works of art.

Be careful, the accessories collection is filled only with unique pieces fighting for your attention.

Yes, those are nuns on motorcycles.

Skylark

Skylark is nestled in comfortably on the always charmingly offbeat Abbot Kinney Blvd in Venice Beach.  It's a treat even strolling along the Blvd, just wait until you get inside.  The vintage clothing/footwear boutique has something for all walks of life. They carry miscellaneous valuables from here to------------------------------------------------> there, as well as eclectic goods handcrafted by local designers and artists.  Along with the one-of-a-kind vintage items, Skylark's gimmick is all about supporting Southern California's own homegrown talent.

Drenched in jewelry, Skylark will provide exactly what you're neck/wrists/ears/fingers are lacking.  Unless you're about to encounter an airport security check in a rush, I highly recommend buying multiples at these prices.

Check out the pendants by Venice artist AMMOLETS.  Made from recycled bullets with love. The cast pendants range from cracker jack toys to sparrow skulls made from melted down bullet casings. The crystals come in different sizes with stones including quartz, jade, and turquoise.  Support LOCAL talent !

Once you're cozied up inside this gem, you'll discover nooks and crannies worth of treasures, like this vintage cookbook collection hiding underneath these radical boots.  X-mas is basically knocking on your front door... or more likely, texting you, so grab some goods for grandma! Or your groupies... whatever works.

His and Hers flannels.  Win-Win.

I'm not one to pick favorites, however, the thing that really gets my blood pumping is the vintage boot COLLECTION.  Yes, it deserves caps lock.  It's a sight for sore eyes & feet.

So at this point, it's pretty obvious that you'd like to take your next paycheck on an outing at Skylark.  Here's how to find them:

P.S. - Every first friday of the month features gourmet food trucks invading Abbot Kinney Blvd along with sales galore.  Hurry up December!
